My wish for you today is that you may

Deck the Halls and Find Christmas Cheer

It's a LOT of work.  It takes time.  The boxes have to come out of storage.  For a day or two, there might be a terrible mess.  The decorations all have to be put in JUST the perfect spot.  The tree stand has to be found, then the tree has to go up....and straightened....maybe two or three times.  Water with sugar goes in the stand.  The skirt covers that.  The train that whistles and blows REAL smoke has to be put together and placed under the tree.

The lights need to be strung.  Don't forget the mantel.  Hang the stockings while in the background,  Christmas music is playing. (go ahead...sing with the angels!)

Don't forget to set up the village with all the snow....

and the Snow Babie's Skating Rink....
         (they are in constant motion!)

                            The Santa Bear Collection....

Unpack the special Christmas dishes....the festive towels for the kitchen and bath...ALL of this is time consuming and even a little overwhelming.   It's ALL part of it.  It is what makes Christmas.  Without all the decor, the traditions...it just doesn't feel quite like it's supposed to.

Over the years, it has been really nice to have the help and assistance of elves.  Yes....elves.  Amazing, and adorable.  Simply the best help EVER!

Ofcourse, I am this family's favorite elf!

May your home be festive.  May the elves help you with the carrying and the unpacking.  May the decorating bring only JOY and CHEER.  May you dim all the other lights except the tree and the lighted decrations, so that at the end of the day, you can just marvel at the Christmas magic that you all just made together... You and your elves.

If you haven't yet started...it's time.  May you deck the halls and find Christmas Cheer.

                                                             and sleep well thereafter...
